Library Instruction
How We Can Help
In collaboration with teaching faculty, the Libraries’ Outreach & Engagement (O&E) team practices innovative, evidence-based pedagogies to build student research skills and promote the critical use of information.
We teach information literacy in a variety of ways, including:
-
Assignment-based instruction
-
Work with a librarian to design an instruction session tailored to the parameters of your assignment. Please see our best practices for more information about scheduling and planning an instruction session.
-
Customized research guides
-
Curated lists of library resources tailored to your discipline and/or course.
-
A la carte workshops on specific topics
-
Examples include but are not limited to Zotero, writing a literature review, primary sources, creating citations, advanced search techniques, and artificial intelligence (AI).
-
Individual consultations
-
Meet with a librarian to learn how the University Libraries can support your teaching and/or scholarship. We also meet one-on-one with students about their research.
