University Libraries Cluster Hire Initiative

In Colgate’s Bicentennial year, the University adopted the The Third-Century Plan, an ambitious framework outlining future initiatives for the institution, including specific goals to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in our campus community. Colgate’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) plan highlights the importance of an academic and residential education that engages a wide range of perspectives and experiences and prepares students to engage with the world beyond college. To attain this goal, Colgate recognizes that faculty, staff, and students must reflect the diversity of the world—and this diverse community must be supported through equitable and inclusive policies across Colgate’s curricular and social programs.

With this commitment as a guiding principle, the Colgate University Libraries is launching a Library Faculty Cluster Hire to recruit, welcome, and support early-career and/or experienced library faculty whose diverse research agendas, life experience, commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, and intentional approach to creating inclusive educational environments advance the mission and strategic goals of the University Libraries. This cluster hire includes three open-rank positions.
